But for those supplying Techsonics with their own E-files, films and or print materials, we offer the following specs. For automated insertion of client-furnished booklets and folders, the following guidelines must be followed.
Print these guidelines out for your graphic artist's & printer's reference. Deviation from the guidelines will necessitate manual insertion, for addiional fees.
Drawings illustrate maximum dimensions. Not to scale. Bleed area 1/8".
Additional specs on insert folders of 10-12 pages, plus stitched CD Booklets are available upon request.
- The minimum weight paper for booklet covers or for folders is 100 lb bookweight. Paper must be coated on BOTH sides.
- The maximum thickness for all printed materials in the front of the standard jewel box may not exceed seventy-one thousandths of an inch (.071") at the fold or ninty-one thousandths of an inch (.091") at the stitch wire.
- Folders and booklets must be folded flat, cut and folded square and be consistent in size within a shipment. All corners are to be cut perpendicular.
- All interior panels must be completely covered by the front and back covers.
- Staples must be consistent in location and may not be closer than .394" from the booklet edge.
- All folders and booklets must be sized to fit in the dimensional tolerances specified in these drawings. Tolerances: deviation of -.031" is acceptable for client supplied pre-printed folders/booklets. The maximum dimensions include the staples.
- Customer supplied pre-printed inserts and tray cards must have a selection # given to it and printed on each item for identification purposes.
- FINAL FILM SPECS for print materials: 150-200 line screen (lpi), negative film, emulsion down. For full color items, a color key match print is required for 4-color films. Less than 4 color a digital proof printout is required.
- CUSTOMER SUPPLIED ART FILES - All COLOR IMAGES must be CONVERTED to CMYK mode and the customer's graphic artist must adjust any color, contrast & brightness as desired. ALL IMAGES should be of excellent quality and should be a minimum of 300 resolution or higher. Provide a complete hardcopy print out of ALL art files when submitting order. Inkjet output or similar quality is accepted. Art files are preferred on CD-Rom in Windows format. Mac files are also accepted. Photoshop, Pagemaker 6.0 or higher, Illustrator, TIFF& JPG images are accepted.
- TECHSONICS Graphics Fees - if we must adjust your art files to fit or conform to our specifications, Techsonics will charge a minimum of $65.00 per hour graphics fee. Any changes to customers files will be prior approved by the customer and be conformed at their option.
